LPA means lakhs per annum: a yearly figure in lakhs of rupees. A salary of 12 LPA is Rs 12,00,000 a year, usually quoted as CTC.
Job posts and offer letters in India usually quote pay in LPA. Remember that it is normally the CTC (cost to company), not the In-hand salary.
