Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. The short version

The sections below set this out in full. This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

2. Scope

This policy applies to everything you can buy from careerbytecode.in. All our programs are delivered as live, instructor-led classes. We do not currently sell self-paced courses or paid digital downloads, so this policy has no clause about downloaded material. If that changes, we will update this page before selling anything of the sort.

3. Live programs, bootcamps, and internships

You are entitled to a full refund of the fee you paid if you request it within whichever of these is later:

• 7 days from the date of purchase, or
• the start of the first live session of your cohort.

Why "whichever is later"

Our cohorts often start several weeks after you book a seat. A flat 7-day window from purchase would close before your first class had even happened, leaving you with no way out of something you had not yet received. The "whichever is later" rule prevents that. If your cohort starts more than 7 days after you buy, your right to a refund runs all the way to the first session.

4. What ends the refund window

Your right to a refund ends as soon as either of the following happens:

• you attend any part of any live session in your cohort, or
• both of the deadlines in section 3 have passed.

Attendance means joining a live session, in whole or in part. It is recorded from our session logs.

5. Community subscriptions

Community membership subscriptions, including the Students plan, are not refundable. This includes the current billing period and any period already paid for.

Membership gives you immediate and continuous access to the community and to mentoring sessions from the moment it starts, which is why it works differently from a cohort with a fixed start date.

6. Cancelling a subscription

When you cancel:

• no further charges are taken,
• your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for,
• the fee for the current period is not refunded.

To cancel, write to support@careerbytecode.in from the email address on your membership. We will confirm the cancellation and the date your access ends.

7. If we cancel or reschedule

• We cancel a cohort: you may take a seat in the next available cohort, or take a full refund. Your choice.
• We reschedule a cohort to dates that do not work for you: you may move to another cohort or take a full refund.
• We materially change the advertised syllabus before your cohort starts: you may take a full refund.

In these cases the deadlines in section 3 do not apply. Refunds are full and unconditional.

8. How to request a refund

Send an email to support@careerbytecode.in from the email address you used to buy, including:

• your full name,
• the program and cohort you enrolled in,
• your date of purchase and the Razorpay payment reference,
• a brief reason, which helps us improve even where the answer is yes.

Email is the only channel for refund requests. Requests sent by WhatsApp, social media, or to an instructor are not refund requests and will not start the clock. What matters for the deadlines in section 3 is the date your email reaches us.

We aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and to confirm the outcome within 7 working days.

9. How approved refunds are paid

• Refunds are issued through Razorpay to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card, account, or person.
• Once we approve and initiate a refund, Razorpay and your bank typically take 5 to 10 working days to credit it. That part is outside our control.
• Refunds are of the fee you actually paid. Bank charges, currency conversion losses, and foreign transaction fees applied by your own provider are not recoverable from us.
• Where GST was charged, it is refunded along with the fee.

10. Exceptional circumstances

If something serious has happened, a medical emergency, a bereavement, or a comparable event, write to us even if your window has closed. We will look at it properly and on its merits. We are not obliged to make an exception, and doing so once does not create a precedent or waive this policy.

11. Chargebacks

If you believe you are owed a refund, please contact us first. Raising a chargeback or payment dispute before contacting us tends to be slower for you than simply emailing us, because it hands the decision to a bank rather than to a person who can just say yes.

Where a chargeback is raised on a purchase that this policy does not entitle you to a refund on, we will contest it and provide the payment provider with the relevant purchase and attendance records.
