FAQ

Questions about the Markdown Table Generator

How do I paste an Excel range as a Markdown table?

Save or copy the range as CSV with a header row, paste it here and click To Markdown. Tab-separated text from a direct copy is not split into columns, so use CSV.

What happens to a pipe character inside a cell?

It is escaped as \| so it does not break the table columns.

Does the Markdown table support column alignment?

The separator row uses plain --- for every column, which renders left-aligned. Add colons by hand, such as ---:, if you need right alignment.

Is the Markdown Table Generator free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. You only sign in if you want to email a result to yourself or save it to your CareerByteCode profile.
