From idea to a live course in 5 steps
- Plan your coursePick one skill people pay to learn. Write 4 outcomes (what learners can do at the end) and split the course into 4 to 8 modules.
- Record your videosShort lessons work best: 5 to 15 minutes each. Record your screen and your voice; a quiet room matters more than a fancy camera.
- Upload to YouTube as UnlistedUpload each video to YouTube with Visibility set to Unlisted, or put them in one Unlisted playlist and import it in one go.
- Build it in the studioAdd modules and lessons, readings, code, PDFs and quick-check questions. The quality score shows what is missing.
- Submit for reviewThe CareerByteCode team checks the course and publishes it. You are told by email, and you can share your course link at once.
Recording guide
- Microphone first: an inexpensive USB or lapel mic beats a laptop mic. Record in a room with soft furnishings.
- Screen at 1920 x 1080, browser zoom at 125 percent, close notifications.
- OBS Studio (free) records screen + webcam; export MP4, then upload to YouTube as Unlisted.
- One idea per lesson. Say what the learner will build, show it, then recap in one sentence.
- Add a captions file (.srt or .vtt) to each video: learners search it and it lifts your quality score.
