Solve one interview scenario each (Server Down, High CPU, High Memory, Disk Full, Permission Issues, Application Failure) and write a one-page runbook per scenario.
03Module 03: Git and GitHub Mastery
- Git internals: objects, refs, HEAD, index, enough to answer the tricky questions
- Workflows: trunk-based, GitFlow, GitHub Flow, when panels ask which and why
- Branching strategies for teams; rebase vs merge, when each is right
- Resolving merge conflicts confidently, the classic screen-share exercise
- Pull Requests: review etiquette, review comments, quality signals
- GitHub best practices: protected branches, code owners, actions basics
Walk through the interview drill on secret-pushed-to-main: draft the exact 10-minute containment plan in your own words, then rehearse it out loud.
04Module 04: CI/CD Pipeline Engineering
- Jenkins architecture, agents, credentials, shared libraries, real questions asked
- GitHub Actions: workflows, matrix builds, reusable workflows, OIDC to cloud
- Azure DevOps Pipelines: YAML pipelines, templates, environments, approvals
- Build automation, artefact management, semantic versioning
- Deployment strategies: blue/green, canary, rolling, trade-offs interviewers probe
- Rollback design and pipeline security (secret handling, supply-chain basics)
Debug three broken sample pipelines (failed build, pipeline error, deployment failure) and explain each cause to fix to prevention arc in interview language.
05Module 05: Docker Deep Dive
- Images, layers, and the build cache, what interviewers probe about efficiency
- Containers, namespaces, cgroups, the what actually is a container answer
- Docker networking: bridge, host, overlay, when each is wrong
- Volumes and storage drivers, data persistence and backup considerations
- Multi-stage builds, image size reduction, base-image selection
- Docker Compose for local dev; container security hardening basics
Diagnose a container crash loop and a volume-mount issue in the lab environment, then write a retellable interview story for each fix.
06Module 06: Kubernetes Production Mastery
- Core objects: Pods, ReplicaSets, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets
- Ingress and network flow: how a request actually reaches a Pod
- Persistent volumes, storage classes, and stateful workloads
- Autoscaling: HPA, VPA, cluster autoscaler, when each fires
- Helm charts: templating, values, release management, plus RBAC design
- Debugging the classics: CrashLoopBackOff, ImagePullBackOff, Pending, DNS, scheduling
Break your cluster on purpose (a CrashLoopBackOff and a Pending pod), fix each, and rehearse the interview answer with the failure signal, root cause and fix.
07Module 07: Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Terraform fundamentals: providers, resources, data sources, lifecycle rules
- Modules: authoring, versioning, and enterprise module structure
- Variables, outputs, locals, writing a module a stranger can use
- State management: local vs remote, locking, and the danger of manual edits
- Remote backends: S3 + DynamoDB, Terraform Cloud, Azure Storage
- Enterprise deployments: workspaces, environments, and CI/CD integration
Rehearse three senior-level Terraform stories in your own words: state lock stuck, drift detection, and resource recovery via terraform state rm and import.
08Module 08: AWS DevOps Interview Preparation
- IAM: policies, roles, trust relationships, and the why not use root answer
- EC2, VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups vs NACLs
- ALB and Auto Scaling groups: request flow and scaling policies
- S3: storage classes, lifecycle, encryption, cross-region replication
- CloudWatch, Route53, and ECS/EKS, what interviewers ask about each
- Cost optimisation: reserved vs spot, tagging strategy, right-sizing
Prepare the four canonical AWS interview stories (traffic spike scaling, public bucket hardening, unexpected bill, service-health investigation) with cause, fix and prevention.
09Module 09: Azure DevOps Interview Preparation
- Azure DevOps: Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, the whole workflow
- Azure VMs, Availability Sets, Availability Zones, and Scale Sets
- AKS: node pools, cluster autoscaling, ingress, and workload identity
- Azure Storage tiers, Key Vault for secrets, and network security groups
- App Services, deployment slots, and hybrid connections
- Azure networking: VNets, peering, private endpoints, and gateway options
Draft an interview-ready description of a multi-stage Azure Pipeline with approvals, plus an ARM or Bicep vs Terraform trade-off story, and rehearse both out loud.
10Module 10: Monitoring, Logging and Observability
- The three pillars: metrics, logs, traces, and where each is right
- Prometheus: exporters, PromQL basics, recording and alert rules
- Grafana: dashboards, variables, unified data-source strategy
- ELK stack and Loki: log shipping, indexing, and cost trade-offs
- Alerting design: symptom vs cause alerts, SLOs, on-call sanity
- Incident analysis: reading dashboards backwards from the impact window
Take a three-panel incident dashboard (given in class) and narrate what happened, in the exact way an on-call interviewer wants to hear it, in under two minutes.
11Module 11: Production Troubleshooting Masterclass
- Structured troubleshooting: hypothesis, evidence, invalidation
- Kubernetes failures, Docker networking, SSL and certificate expiry
- DNS failures, load-balancer misroutes, and split-brain symptoms
- Jenkins job failures, Terraform state drift, and cloud API outages
- Database connectivity, connection-pool exhaustion, high query latency
- Security incidents: leaked credentials, exposed endpoints, containment steps
Solve a live enterprise incident from the class set, then convert it into a short interview story with a clean cause, fix and prevention arc you can retell in 90 seconds.
12Module 12: Daily Live Mock Interviews
- Technical interviews: system design fundamentals for DevOps roles
- Managerial interviews: prioritisation, incident retros, cross-team stories
- HR interviews: motivation, gaps, notice period, offer conversation
- Architecture discussions: whiteboard exercises, capacity and cost trade-offs

- Resume-based interviews: defending every bullet on your own resume
Sit through at least three recorded mocks across the cohort, act on the specific improvement noted at the end of each, and log what you changed for the next mock.
