A GSTIN is the 15-character GST identification number a business gets when it registers for GST. It starts with the two-digit state code and contains the business PAN.
Businesses quote their GSTIN on invoices. When a company buys from CareerByteCode and gives its GSTIN, the invoice carries it so the company can claim the input tax credit.
Individuals who are not registered for GST (goods and services tax) do not need one.
