What is TDS (tax deducted at source)?

TDS, or tax deducted at source, is income tax that the payer deducts from a payment and deposits with the government against the receiver's PAN, before the receiver gets the rest.

Employers deduct TDS from salaries, and businesses deduct it from payments such as professional fees and commissions. The deducted amount is not lost: it shows in your Form 26AS and AIS and counts towards your total tax when you file your return. If too much was deducted, you get a refund.

CareerByteCode deducts 10 percent TDS on every payout to creators, resellers, Success Managers and partners, and shows it on your statement.

Plan for it with the TDS calculator, and check your case with your CA.
