The tool shows
One 36-character lowercase UUID such as 9b2e4c1a-5f3d-4a7e-8b6c-0d1e2f3a4b5c, with 4 always as the first digit of the third group.
They are the same 128-bit format. GUID is the name used in Microsoft tools, and these v4 UUIDs work wherever a GUID is expected.
The first character of the third group is always 4, and the first character of the fourth group is 8, 9, a or b.
It works well when IDs are created by many services or clients without coordination. Random v4 values do insert less efficiently into clustered indexes than sequential keys, so weigh that for very large tables.
