FAQ

Questions about the CSV Cleaner

How are duplicate CSV rows detected?

Two rows are duplicates when every cell matches exactly after trimming (if Trim spaces is on). The first occurrence is kept and later copies are removed.

Does the cleaner remove duplicates based on one column?

No. It compares whole rows. To de-duplicate on a single column, copy that column into the List Dedupe tool instead.

Will cleaning break quoted fields with commas?

No. The CSV is parsed with quote handling first, and fields that contain commas, quotes or line breaks are re-quoted in the output.

Is the CSV Cleaner free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. You only sign in if you want to email a result to yourself or save it to your CareerByteCode profile.
