FAQ

Questions about the Offer Comparison Calculator

How do I compare two job offers?

Compare in-hand pay, not CTC: PF, variable pay and tax change what you take home. Then add joining bonus and costs like travel or rent.

Is variable pay counted?

The yearly take-home counts it as fully paid. Ask what share was really paid last year, and compare the fixed monthly in-hand too.

Which tax rules does it use?

The same rules as the CTC to in-hand salary calculator: PF on basic, professional tax, standard deduction, rebate and cess, with Budget 2025 slabs assumed for FY 2026-27.

Is the Offer Comparison Calculator free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. You only sign in if you want to email a result to yourself or save it to your CareerByteCode profile.
