FAQ

Questions about the Prompt Templater

What is a prompt template?

A prompt with fixed instructions and named slots for the parts that change, so every run follows the same structure. It makes prompts easier to test, version and share.

What happens if I forget a variable value?

The placeholder stays in the output as {{name}} and the status line lists it under Unfilled, so you can spot it before sending the prompt.

Can variable names contain dots or dashes?

Yes. Names can use letters, digits, underscores, dots and dashes, for example {{user.name}} or {{max-words}}.

Is the Prompt Templater free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. You only sign in if you want to email a result to yourself or save it to your CareerByteCode profile.
