FAQ

Questions about the EPF Calculator

How much goes into EPF every month?

You contribute 12 percent of basic plus DA, and of the employer's 12 percent, 3.67 percent goes to EPF and the rest to the pension scheme. This calculator counts the 12 plus 3.67 percent that builds your EPF balance.

What EPF interest rate should I use?

The default is 8.25 percent, the recently declared EPF rate. The rate is set every year, so change it to test lower or higher scenarios.

Why can my EPF passbook differ from this projection?

The tool compounds monthly and assumes steady salary growth, while EPFO credits interest yearly and actual raises vary. Treat the corpus as an estimate.

Is the EPF Calculator free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. You only sign in if you want to email a result to yourself or save it to your CareerByteCode profile.
